Be Smart and Take Strategic Communications

Are you tired of being fooled by the market place? Everything you purchase there is a marketing strategy behind to make you make that purchase. The marketplace is always one step ahead of you. Many people major in marketing or advertising to figure out how to be one step ahead of the market.

D. Coxwell is a student at the University of Florida. He grew up being fooled by every single ad he came across. As he stated, “I fell for everything because I always thought they were on my side.” Little did he know before college that professionals with degrees in advertising figured out how to appeal to their consumers emotions to get more purchases of a particular item. Everything is advertised in a unique way to increase customer base and sales.

One of the most impactful classes David has come across at the University of Florida is the Strategic Communications Course. This course was one of his first classes at UF and it changed his view on the marketplace forever. This was the course where he learned about all the different advertising strategies. He learned that everything in this world is advertised in a particular way to appeal to customers emotions. Even he got to practice using these different techniques, which really proved to him that nothing in this world is simple like we think. For example, all the words and pictures on all of the food items and everything else had to go through many people before actually being put on the market for sale.

The Strategic Communications Course can change one’s life forever. It can help prevent one from going out into the market world and being vulnerable. This course offers all the information one needs to be able to shop smart, save money, and make wise decisions. Don’t let the market fool you. You go out there and buy what you want regardless of the ad. Don’t let ads trick you into making an unnecessary purchase. Take the Strategic Communications Course like D. Coxwell and end up being smarter and one step ahead of the market. Us, non-marketing and non-advertising majors, don’t let advertisers appeal to our emotions and make us vulnerable due to our ignorance on the topic of advertising.

Gainesville, Fla., February 8, 2019 (Dermatologytimes.com) – For all the cosmetic dermatologists that perform laser treatments, there are three simple techniques to promote laser customer base. According to Dermatology Times, the trick for cosmetic dermatologists to increase their laser customer base without investing money is by marketing to patients and staff, utilizing referral sources, and marketing for the long-term.

Internal marketing is critical at the beginning of the process. To grow the business, all the staff and existing patients should be aware of the procedures that the firm offers. According to Dr. Keaney, having staff that knows the steps of the treatment and the expected results helps spread the word to the existing patients. It lets the existing patients know that they don’t have to go elsewhere for these procedures. Not only is the staff a great advocate for the existing patients, but also keeping the waiting room filled with brochures and TV monitors about the procedures helps entice the existing patients. For example, Dr. Gold’s strategy is as he said, “not only to inform but also to entice the patients.”

Taking advantage of referral sources is another key marketing strategy to promote the laser industry. For example, Dr. Alster, explained how educating other doctors about the procedures the practice offers contributes to an increase in customer base involved in laser treatments. Doctors refer patients to other doctors all the time and it is one of the many tricks to increasing business. Laser treatment is known to help get rid of the bad scars other surgeries caused, therefore having connections with other doctors and being recommend to their patients is key to growing the laser business. It is important to make as many people aware of the services offered by the laser firm as possible. People always go to doctors that their friends or other physicians recommend. People rarely visit a physician that they don’t know much about.

Lastly, marketing for the long-term is a trick to increasing customer base. Staying up to date with the current trends can promote the business. Such as knowing what’s in currently and advertising your expertise on that procedure. Having a good platform to advertise on such as Facebook helps keep potential new customers and existing patients aware of the new laser services offered.

Who is Lydia?

Dermatology word cloud

Hello,

I’m Lydia. I’m majoring in nutritional sciences at the University of Florida. I am currently a sophomore at the University of Florida. After I finish my bachelor’s degree, I aspire to go on to medical school to become a dermatologist. I’ve been interested in skin ever since I was a little girl. In ninth grade, I decided dermatology was the field  I wanted to be involved in. Ever since then, I have been working hard in school and now I’m at UF continuing to work hard. I spend a majority of my time studying. At other times, you can catch me working out in the gym or volunteering for non-profit organizations. I love giving back to my community. It is so humbling, which is another reason why I chose the health profession. Helping others is truly so humbling. My goal is to one day open up my very own dermatology practice.

The work I will be presenting on this blog will not only be about the new products or treatments used in the field of dermatology but also about the advertising and marketing of businesses because owning a dermatology firm requires not only the medical side of knowledge but also the business knowledge too.
